Federal Incentives
Residential Clean Energy Credit (30% Federal Tax Credit)

Eligibility: Homeowners who purchase and install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery storage, or geothermal heat pumps between 2022 and 2032.

Credit Amount: 30% of the total installation cost, including equipment, labor, and permitting fees.

Requirements:

You must own the system (leases and power purchase agreements do not qualify).

The system must be installed at your primary or secondary residence in the U.S.

Rental properties are not eligible.

Additional Info: If your tax liability is less than the credit, you can roll over the remaining amount to future tax years. ​
California State Incentives
Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP)

Purpose: Provides rebates for installing energy storage systems (batteries) to enhance grid reliability and support renewable energy.

Rebate Amounts:

Based on qualifications, limited availablility

HEEHRA Rebates available through TECH Clean California

Income-eligible Californians can maximize their savings when upgrading to a heat pump HVAC system.

Rebates are exclusively available through TECH Clean California-certified, HEEHRA-trained contractors.

Income-qualified California residents can receive a HEEHRA rebate of up to $4,000 or $8,000 for switching to a new heat pump HVAC system.

Rebates can be combined with other incentives for even greater savings.
